YES OPENS CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The Youth Enterprise Support (YES) wishes to inform the general public that it will open the call for applications on 22nd January 2016 and close on the 19th February 2016.

The public is being reminded that the forms can be accessed from the YES website and well as selected Post Offices across the country.Forms can also be picked up from the YES secretariat.Kindly note that YES application forms are not for sale.

Qualified Ghanaian youth are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to turn their creative ideas into businesses.

YES to launch Rural Entrepreneurship Activation Program (REAP)

Youth Enterprise Support (YES) will commence an entrepreneurship development program that is targeted specifically at the rural youth in Ghana.

This has been necessitated by the discovery that youth development in the rural areas is more than ever before linked to entrepreneurship.

In the Socio-politically sense, rural youth entrepreneurship development can be seen as the key strategy to prevent rural unrest and reduce rural-urban migration; improve farm earnings; or as an employment possibility which provides autonomy, independence and a reduced need for social support.

YES beneficiaries graduate from farmer trainee programme

The Youth Enterprise Support initiative last Thursday, December 10, 2015, held its first graduation ceremony for 16 beneficiaries who had undergone intensive training in poultry and livestock production.

 

Beneficiaries who undertook courses lasting three months in poultry and piggery as well agriculture entrepreneurship, farm management and agric sales, were awarded certificates at an impressive ceremony held at the Livestock and Poultry Research Centre (LIPREC) of the University of Ghana.

YES calls for business plan proposals

The Youth Enterprise Support (YES) Secretariat has announced that it will start receiving business plans, ideas and proposals from young and prospective entrepreneurs on Monday September 01, 2014.

According to the YES Secretariat, interested persons who meet the published Eligibility Criteria have between September 01, and October 10, 2014 to submit their business plans, or ideas for consideration.

President visits YES office

President John Dramani Mahama has visited the offices of the newly launched Youth Enterprise Support (YES) Initiative located on the Research Road at Okponglo near Accra. The visit was to enable him interact with the YES team and inspect their facilities.

YES, an initiative to support young people with business ideas and plans with start-up capital and business management skills was launched on Tuesday night by the President.

Mr. Mahama was taken round the offices Presidential Staffer Kojo Adu-Asare, who is now in charge of the Secretariat.

President Mahama to launch YES

The Youth Enterprise Support (YES), a Ten Million Ghana Cedis (GH¢10m) initiative of President John Dramani Mahama will be launched on Tuesday, August 12, 2014.

YES will be offering the youth of Ghana an opportunity for innovation and the creation of decent jobs through mentorship, financial and technical support.

According to President Mahama, the YES initiative is not a full answer to job creation issues, but reflects his commitment to the future of the Ghanaian youth.
